THE crew attempting to row across the North Atlantic have encountered more bad weather, following several days of sunshine.

Nigel Morris and George Rock, of Ingleby Barwick, near Stockton, along with fellow crew members Steve Dawson and Rob Munslow, are also having to deal with facial hair on their epic 2,100-mile journey from Canada to England.

Here is their latest report:

text to go hereIT seems the past five days have turned us into soft, sunshine-loving ocean rowers.

The change in weather finally arrived yesterday afternoon. Gone now are the mill pond conditions and scorching sun - and it's welcome home the north-northwesterly wind, horizontal rain and breaking seas.

During the dark hours of last night's three-hour shifts, the comforts of home seemed a long way away.

Still, we would have it no other way - for to suffer now will only increase the pleasure of arriving in Falmouth.

Talking of pleasure, we are all looking forward to removing the facial hair that now surrounds our chiselled good looks.

It was suggested on the message board the other day that if we stuck our heads out of the cabin the wind would remove our "fluff".

Well, we tried that - no joy.

In the meantime, if anyone can suggest a technique for how you can eat a meal without three-quarters of your food being left hanging in your beard, we would be very interested to hear.

The court case of Lucky The Bear has been adjourned due to bad weather, an unusual reason, but it is hoped to resume tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone for their support . . . keep the messages coming.

Yours,

The Crew
