FIZZY, the wonder dog who raced her way into a list of world beaters, proved herself a true star last week by clocking up a new best time for millions of new fans across the other side of the world.
With a Japanese film crew's cameras rolling, the border collie showed nerves of steel by beating her own world record for running through 50 pairs of legs.
The crew travelled from Tokyo to film three-year-old Fizzy for a weekly programme called Amazing Animals after reading of her achievement in The Advertiser's sister paper, The Northern Echo.
In August Japanese viewers will see her covering the 15 metre course in 1.97 seconds at Bishop Auckland College, - grabbing a red ball from last in line IT technician Karl Myers.
Fizzy is no stranger to the cameras. She earned her entry into next year's Guinness Book of Records with a previous dash in 2.1 seconds in Newcastle, filmed for ITV's Animal Road Show.
Fizzy was a blur of black fur from the moment her owner veterinary nurse Donna Smith let her go.
Japanese producer Yuji Yoneda said: "We think she is wonderful. She is exactly what we want for the show."
Donna, of West Cornforth rescued Fizzy as a 13-week-old puppy when she was taken to a vet's to be put down.
