Primary school pupils can pick up advice at a fire safety carousel initiative run by firefighters and council officials in Darlington.
More than 1,600 children are expected to attend the sessions, which are held at the fire station, in St Cuthbert's Way, until next Thursday.
They include demonstrations by the emergency services, electricity supply companies and the borough council's road safety team.
Children will spend 15 minutes on a selected part of the carousel and then moving on to the next section.
The safety carousel runs from 9.30am to 11.30am and 12.30pm to 2.15pm.
