THE dedication of a band of charity volunteers in Darlington has been formally recognised.
The St Cuthbert's Care organisation has 45 volunteers, with 31 working at its charity shop in Skinnergate.
Some have been doing voluntary work for more than ten years. They saw their efforts marked on Thursday with the unveiling of a plaque at the shop.
It was commissioned as part of Year of the Volunteer, a national initiative being run by CSV, the country's largest volunteering charity, and backed by the Home Office.
Austin Donohoe, director of St Cuthbert's Care, said: "St Cuthbert's Care is indeed fortunate to have such committed individuals, working together with the common goal of empowering and enabling people across the whole of the region.
