POLICE searching for the killer of 11-year-old arson victim Dean Pike have revisited the scene - a week after the tragedy - in an attempt to find anyone with information.
The move came as the condition of his pregnant mother Janine Dodd, 29, who was critically injured after she jumped from an upstairs window to escape, continues to improve.
Police believe Dean's home in Mordey Close, Hendon, Sunderland, was set alight using lighter fluid early Friday, June 24.
A yellow 100ml tin of Swan Extra Refined fluid was found in a nearby garden shortly after the fire.
Detectives last night said lots of people contacted them to say they had bought a tin of the product.
Detective Superintendent Barbara Franklin, who is leading the investigation said: "There were quite a lot of people in the area, but not as many as the previous week, because the weather was not as nice.
"We spoke to quite a lot of people last night, however it resulted in no significant information."
She said the response to an appeal relating to the lighter fuel had been good and reminded shops police were looking for the tin carried a batch number 5A20, relating to the date of manufacture, January 20.
Anyone with information has been asked to call police on 0191-454 7555, extension 66718, or Crimestoppers in confidence on (0800) 555111.
