PUPILS at a Darlington secondary school have been discovering their artistic flair.
More than 60 youngsters from Hummersknott Comprehensive School, in Edinburgh Drive, have been working on a large mural to brighten up the site for the school's 50th anniversary.
The pupils were guided by community artist Steve Hunter.
The three-metre wide creation has been painted on a wall at the rear of the school, near the tuck shop.
Clerical assistant Barbara Dent said: "The mural shows the school's history in recognition of its 50th anniversary, which will be celebrated formally in November."
"It shows the school logo, our artistic logo and a space has been left for a new logo which we will soon be using at the school."
The project was one of many taking place during the school's annual activities week and involved different year groups.
Steve Jeffreys, head of the creative arts faculty, said: "This mural is something the school has needed and the pupils really got involved."
