A WOMAN'S strong views on transport have won her a bicycle.
Philomena Lennox, from Haswell, east Durham, returned a questionnaire about what should be included in Durham County Council's second local transport plan.
One of the questionnaires was pulled from a hat and Mrs Lennox, who urged the authority to concentrate on local schemes, was presented with a £300 bike.
The plan is designed to improve public transport and make travel easier and safer.
Councillor Bob Pendlebury, cabinet member for transport and sustainability, said: "We had nearly 400 responses to the questionnaire, with the majority of people saying the plan's emphasis should be on local schemes, followed by county then regional schemes.
"The information will help establish the direction of our transport plans for the next five years and we're grateful for people taking the time to get involved and give us their views."
A provisional plan will be sent to the Government at the end of this month and the final version will be submitted in March.
