THE annual Durham Summer Festival was held at the weekend with a host of attractions, including a Mini Idols event.
The event, organised by the Durham City Forum and the Durham Markets Company, saw about 60 youngsters aged seven to 13 take to the stage to sing their favourite tunes.
About 100 stallholders, selling gifts and crafts were housed in a giant marquee on the Palace Green.
A fancy dress contest was won by Sammy McKewan, who wore Chinese national costume while selling her silk paintings.
Other attractions included a children's climbing wall in Millennium Place, a Hungarian dance troupe, an Anglo Saxon re-enactment group and there was also a falconry display.
