ARSONISTS have started another fire at the former home of Darlington Football Club.
The latest blaze at the Feethams ground and the nearby Quaker Centre was started at about 3pm on Saturday in the west wing of the south terrace at Feethams.
Two fire crews from Darlington and one from Newton Aycliffe were called to put out the fire, which had started after the arsonists set fire to rubbish.
The crews extinguished the flames on the ground floor quickly and then searched the derelict building to see if anyone was trapped because the building was smoke-logged.
The fire service and police are treating the fire as suspicious.
Inspector Alan Davidson, said: "It was a rubbish fire and there was no significant damage to the property. The fire was extinguished without a problem."
Police have been repeatedly called to the Quaker Centre and Feethams after reports of break-ins and criminal damage, and residents have complained about the problems.
