A baby products firm has apologised after a six-month-old girl almost choked on a teether.
Sonya Robson said her baby Ffion had the teether in her mouth when she noticed the filling had come out.
The mother-of-three, of Columbia, Washington, quickly took the £6.99 Tommee Tippee teether out of Ffion's grasp and returned it to her local Asda store.
Bosses sent it to Jackel International Limited, in Cramlington, Northumberland, which owns Tommee Tippee.
Ms Robson, 31, who lives with her children and partner, Andrew Charlesworth, said she was relieved she spotted it in time.
She said: "I panicked and grabbed it off her as soon as I saw the stuffing. I scooped it out of her mouth straight away. If I hadn't been watching her she could have choked."
She has received a letter of apology from Jackel International.
The company also sent another teether.
A letter to the family said: "As a responsible company who prides itself on its good reputation for quality, design and service we were most concerned to learn of your complaint.
"Although Jackel do everything possible to eliminate potential issues with our products, we do understand that problems do sometimes occur.
"Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused to you and your family.
"May we thank you for bringing this matter to our attention."
