A RESEARCH award is to be set up to promote study of the natural and historical environment of the North York Moors National Park.
The £500 award is being promoted by the Moors' Association and secretary Kath Phalp is seeking applicants to come forward, including students in higher education, universities and colleges, or experienced amateur investigators.
She said: "The award aims to help work that will provide information of valuable to the conservation of the moors. An important objective will be to help in the publication of the results of the research."
