THREE men accused of possessing firearms when their car was stopped by armed police on a main road have appeared in court.
All three men, from Manchester, denied the charges against them yesterday, and their case was transferred from Teesside Crown Court to Durham Crown Court.
Domenyk James Lattlay-Fottfoy, formerly known as Noonan, is accused of possession of a prohibited weapon - a converted 9mm revolver -and possession of ammunition -five .357 Magnum rounds.
Aaron Shane Berry, 19, of Tatmouth Avenue, is also accused of possession of a banned firearm, possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition.
A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was accused of possession of a firearm in a public place and possession of ammunition.
All charges related to the same gun and the five rounds of ammunition.
Police stopped a black Jaguar car on the A1, at the A167 turnoff, near Darlington, as it headed north in May.
The car, which had been driven from Manchester, belonged to Mr Lattlay-Fottfoy, 40, of Bacup Street, who runs a security firm.
No date was set for the next appearance, and all three were remanded in custody.
