PLACES are filling up, but the organisers of a charity walk in a North-East beauty spot are urging more people to take part.
The Macmillan Cancer Support team in County Durham will hold the nine-mile walk in Hamsterley Forest, near Bishop Auckland, on Sunday, April 25.
Last year, the event raised £7,000, but Macmillan’s County Durham fundraising manager Michelle Muir hopes to top that.
The walk is challenging, but Mrs Muir said it was suitable for anyone moderately fit. She said: “Places are limited so if you think you have got what it takes, register now.”
Registration costs £5 and there is a minimum sponsorship of £25.
Walkers can register at macmillan.org.uk/fund raising/walkingevents More details from muir@macmillan.org.uk or call 01325-370870.
