ANDY Murray may have lost the Australian Open final to Roger Federer - but his tears at the end will transform his public image.
We've never really learned to love Murray but his post-match speech could not have gone any better.
People love to see emotion and the fact that he choked during his speech will prove to be the most positive thing he could have done apart from winning.
His tears were also accompanied by a gem of a quote: "I can cry like Roger. It's a shame I can't play like him."
Tears and humility. Suddenly, there will be a lot more people rooting for Murray the next time he's in a final.
