AT a recent talk, Sandra Hood of Darlington came up and gave me this gorgeous late 1930s wedding photograph.
She can identify her parents on it, possibly before they were married: Margaret Jean Scott on the right end of the front row, and Alan Abdale who is second from the right on the back row.
Where was the picture taken? Well, it is a postcard sized print and on the rear it says SE Taylor of Bondgate, Darlington - the town's most well known photographer of this era. I think that he had taken over the Coopers photo-emporium in Ivy House, on the corner of Salt Yard. Mr Taylor, as the back of the card says, also had the Cornall Studio, Harrogate, and a shop at 98 Newgate Street, Bishop Auckland.
If you recognise a face on the picture, please let me know.
