TWO people have been taken to hospital after fire broke out in a takeaway restaurant this afternoon.
A man and a woman were rescued by fire fighters and treated for the effects of smoke inhalation after the fire in High Street, Stokesley.
Crews were called to the China Wok shortly after 2pm yesterday after fire broke out in the kitchens.
The blaze caused extensive damage to the ground floor restaurant and first floor living accommodation.
Three fire crews were called to the scene and it took more than four hours to fully extinguish the blaze.
The B1365 was closed to traffic as a result of the fire.
