A Consett teenager has been picked to play pool for England.
Jordan Watson, of Medomsley, near Consett, County Durham, impressed judges when he took part in a national competition in Stoke recently.
The 16-year-old, who is a pupil at Consett Community Sports College, regularly plays at The Supa Snooker Club in Consett, which is owned by his father, Jonny. (correct) Mr Watson, 41, said: "It is an excellent achievement to be able to represent your country and I am very proud. It is a massive thing."
Jordan started playing snooker on full size tables at his father’s club when he was 11 and has racked up breaks of up 108.
Now he is part of a team of 16 players aged under 18.
Jordan said: "I am looking forward to meeting all the best players from around the world and going to different places."
