The most disturbing story in today's papers as far as I'm concerned is the revelation that vital evidence relating to the death of weapons expert Dr David Kelly is to be kept secret for 70 years.
With so much doubt and suspicion still surrounding Dr Kelly's death in July 2003, what possible justification can there be for supressing medical records, including post mortem results?
The decision has been taken by Lord Hutton, who chaired the wholly unsatisfactory inquiry into the Kelly scandal.
Dr Kelly was found dead shortly after he was exposed as the source of a BBC report questioning false Government claims that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction capable of being deployed in 45 minutes.
Coming days before Tony Blair gives evidence to the Iraq inquiry, the 70-year delay in revealing the truth is bound to fuel speculation that there is something to hide.
