There has been generally positive feedback about last night's Darlington Debate.
A localised kind of Question Time is something I've been pushing for in the town for some time so we can get local people more involved in influencing decisions.
It finally became a reality thanks to John Orchard, director of Marchday, agreeing to host it at Lingfield Point.
Lingfield Point is the go-ahead business park, developed by Marchday out of the ruins of the old Paton and Baldwins textile plant.
I was delighted to chair the hour-long debate on the future of Darlington's economy and there seems to be an appetite for more.
There are plenty of possible subjects for the next one: education standards, leisure facilities, health inequalities.
My vote for the next one would be a debate answering the question: "Does Darlington do enough to attract tourists?"
My own view is that the answer is "no" and my first suggested panellist would be a leading member of the team that built the Tornado steam locomotive in Darlington from scratch.
Those boys have a thing or two to teach us about putting Darlington on the map.
