A KENNELS is seeking new homes for two strays – after they were repeatedly overlooked by potential owners for more attractive dogs.
Vicky, a three-year-old crossbreed, and Walter, an 18-month-old Staffordshire bull terrier cross, have both been at Deerness Kennels, Langley Moor, near Durham City, for four months.
They have become the longest-staying residents – and have seen countless other dogs leave to start new lives with new owners.
Now the kennels is hoping the new year will bring about a change of fortune for the duo.
“There are prettier looking dogs – they are not the Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt of the dog world,” said volunteer Angela Taylor.
“Actually, I think Vicky is quite a pretty thing, though Walter isn’t – but he has the loveliest nature.”
Both animals have been vaccinated, neutered, wormed and microchipped.
Anyone interested in providing either dog with a home is asked to call 0191-378-0439 or email info@strayaction.com
