Just returned from a meeting at Cockfield club and there’s finally some light at the end of the tunnel.

The stay of closure ends tomorrow -12th Jan - and although I’ve been asked not to reveal any figures the committee are confident that the club will be out of administration within the next few weeks.

This is largely due to the fantastic effort of members who have been doing a variety of fundraising events and a tremendous amount of work by the committee liaising with the liquidators and the CIU.

Todays meeting was called at such short notice because the committee only received a confirmation letter of the final costs earlier today and, as promised, called the meeting to let members know what was going on.

It’s still all about ‘bums on seats’ but it’s good to know that the clubs going in the right direction.

The next live band at the club is ‘INSPIRATION’ on Saturday 13th Feb.

By way of a footnote, I notice that our local MP Helen Goodman is holding a ‘constitutional surgery’ in the club on Friday 5th Feb at 5-00pm. Hope she’s paying for the room!
