Been trying to figure out why a SLED is called a SLEDGE here? Sorry, but it conjures up images of pond scum as "sledge" reminds me of "sludge", which reminds me of pond scum. It's all down to word association, which I use quite often to help me remember things.

I elected to stay home today instead of going into town, and I made the cats listen to Robert Plant and Alison Krauss all afternoon. I can't ride the bus free like JB can because, I'm not old enough. I figured there was no point in freezing and having wet feet. I really should buy some boots, but in the nine plus years that I've lived here, I've never needed a pair of boots. Three of my four cats disappeared to the tall uncut (as we say in Pennsylvania), and only Amos hung around with me and enjoyed the tunes.

Speaking of pond scum, I wonder if Northumbrian water know that if you put water in a bottle and keep it a couple days, it grows filmy green slime in it?

I have a spray bottle I use to put the curl back in my bed head in the morning. If it sits and I don't change the water, "things" grow in it. Does that mean I'm spraying my hair with pond scum? JB says years ago, little tiny shrimps came out of the taps and into your glass of water. "Pull the other one", I said...Not sure I believe him.

Finally, a little message to my stepdaughters who wished for a white Christmas. .I would like to say, please don't ever wish for anything ever ever again. Please?
