A MAN who killed a football fan outside a North-East pub has today been sentenced to seven years in jail.
A jury found Maurice Rowell guilty of the manslaughter of 48-year-old kitchen fitter Stephen Wilson at Teesside Crown Court last month.
The 26-year-old from Bishop Auckland struck the killer blow outside the town's Beehive pub early on August 10.
It followed a row in the pub's car park that night over an amateur football match between Rowell and Mr Wilson's nephew.
The victim and Rowell lived just doors away from each other on the town's Hardisty Crescent.
