A GRANDFATHER whose vision transformed an African village is to share his adventure.
Jim O’Connor helped thousands of people with the creation of a well in Macheme, Tanzania, in memory of his wife Dorothy, who died of breast cancer.
Mr O’Connor, of Esh Village, near Durham, will talk about his work at St Margaret’s Church, in Crossgate, Durham, where he is a member, on Friday, January 15.
He will discuss his fundraising campaign, which reached its £18,000 target in just a few months last year, and screen a short film. The event will begin at 7pm with wine and light refreshments.
The presentation starts at 7.30pm. Admission is free and all are welcome.
