Today is the first time I’ve missed a days work in over twenty years, although I was out trying to cut the snow and ice from the drive and side road from 6-30am, the ‘Forth Road Bridge’ springs to mind!
To be fair, the decision to keep the shop closed today was made easier by the fact we had virtually no appointments to deal with and, if you don’t have it ‘cut’ today you’ll have it done tomorrow!
I mentioned in an earlier blog that I didn’t fancy doing weather reports on this site but, the snow is as bad as I’ve seen for a long, long time and I thought a few photographs might let readers abroad see what conditions are like back in Cockfield.
I know the sky’s looking blue and the snow looks pretty but the photo’s don’t really show how cold it is; minus one at 12-30pm, and believe me, it’s just a brief respite from the continuing heavy showers.
It’s so cold I had to snap a dog off a lamppost this morning!!
Anyway, the word is that these conditions could last for up to three weeks, but whatever, it’s back to work tomorrow; even if I’ve got to walk!
