I was told by a colleague that the past couple of weeks has been "the worst winter weather for 20 years".

I have to disagree, in my view the three weeks of snow we've had has been the best winter weather for 20 years. Bad winter weather is when it snows then for the next five days there is that grey sludge on the ground. Or when it just rains and is cold - that still causes "traffic chaos" but isn't half as much fun - you try making a model man out of rain.

This Christmas period I have made one snowman, been sledging twice and been on one very pleasant winter walk. Yeah, I've fallen over once, nearly fallen over countless times and had my car stuck in snow three times, but the snow, this year, has made my Christmas.

Talking of Christmas, my most random Christmas present this year was an LED torch on an aerial. Not sure what I'm going to use it for yet though.
