SO George Houghton exits his grotto and immediately starts blaming other people for the demise of Darlington FC (Echo, December 22).

Look at your own figures George. You supposedly pumped £6m into the club.

You say you called in the administrator with debts of £7.8m. This represents a £13.8m turnover in about three years.

Unless I am missing something here, and I don’t recall high wage earners like Fabregas, Gerrard, Rooney or Terry playing in the Arena in the last three years, the numbers don’t seem to me to stack up.

Is there any chance of Mr Houghton telling people if he actually profited from his time at Darlington FC?
