POLICE have received fresh information regarding a man executed in a gangland-style killing nine years ago.
No one has been convicted for Mark Corley’s death.
His headless remains were found in a field near Bolam, five miles from Darlington, in December 2000.
The 23-year-old, from Grantham, near Lincolnshire, died from a gunshot wound to the head and had been missing for five months.
His father, Tony, 56, has been searching for answers ever since.
Mr Corley has received a letter from a woman who says his son was staying at a house in her street in Grantham a short time before he went missing.
He has passed the letter to police, who have traced the woman, who was interviewed by detectives last Thursday.
The woman is understood to have told officers that neighbours constantly complained about noisy parties at the house.
She also said that just before Mr Corley, who had drugs convictions, was reported missing, people were seen removing a large chest freezer from the house.
The woman told police that the freezer was put in a van and driven away.
