A £70,000 makeover for Northallerton’s swimming pool begins next week.
It will see the flume ride revamped to include a "surprise" cold shower, traffic light steps and a ride timer.
The Hambleton Leisure Centre flume will close next Monday (NOV 23) – with work on the pool and sauna starting two weeks later (DEC 7).
That work will see an interactive water ball with fill and spill buckets installed. The pool will close for eight days for the work to be completed.
"When we re open on December 15 customers will be getting an early Christmas present," said marketing manager Leanne Dunning.
"The upgrades will create a state of the art facility in Northallerton."
The rest of the centre will remain open throughout the work.
