Vincent Frank aka Frankmusik is that rarest of pop prospects; one that has manufactured his own image and music. He is a talented pop craftsman whose breakneck electro-fuelled music makes you want to get up and dance. When he takes to the stage accompanied by his backing band there are roars of delight from the audience. He opens by mixing up some beat-boxing with singing as he tackles tracks When Your Around and Gotta Boyfriend? His music is a combination of retro synths, fast chunky drums riffs and simple, straightforward but witty lyrics that take hold of your imagination instantaneously. Track 3 Little Words is immediately infectious as soon as you’ve heard it live, and it’s impossible to ignore the influence of the 80’s in the track. His debut album, Complete Me is an electronic love letter, the soundtrack to an eternal summer of adolescent heartache, equal parts light and dark. It is a break up record written about his ex girlfriend; Vincent wrote and produced these tracks in his bedroom in Thornton Heath, Croydon. From the beginning of the set to the end the whole venue was bouncing and responded well to his dance floor filling music. The atmosphere Vincent created along with the crowd was remarkable, he engaged with the audience and made them feel a part of his performance. Returning for an encore he sings 3 Little Words again, but this time solo, accompanying himself on electric piano. It is apparent that Frankmusik is something special, and there’s a lot more to this artist than meets the eye.
