A PENSIONER is proving that age is no barrier to living life in top gear. Geoff Watkin has pledged to continue working as an off-road driving instructor - despite turning 80.
Mr Watkin, from Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire, helped launch Yorkshire 4x4, based at Felixkirk, near Thirsk, in the early nineties.
He returned to work at the centre after a spell back with his former employee, Land Rover.
Mr Watkin said he planned to keep teaching off-road driving as "long as possible".
"I just love meeting people and teaching them new skills - I really enjoy it," he said.
Off-road driving is not the only action-packed activity enjoyed by the octogenarian.
"I’m a bit a dare-devil and I also enjoy bungee jumping and sky diving," said the pensioner.
