A HUGE dredger was towed into the Tyne this morning ahead of work to cut a second Tyne tunnel.
The 305-ft long Vesalius was towed into the river on the back of a massive cargo barge.
It will be floated off the barge tomorrow morning starting at 9am.
The barge will be lowered to more than 11 metres below the water’s surface in order to float off the dredger and associated equipment.
