POLICE investigating a serious road traffic collision on the B1257 at Great Broughton yesterday are appealing for witnesses.
The incident occurred at 11.30am when a Honda motorcycle, which was travelling southbound towards Helmsley, collided with a blue Fiat Punto travelling in the opposite direction.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 51-year-old woman from Loftus, was taken to James Cook Hospital where she remains in a critical condition with internal injuries and injuries to her legs.
The victim was travelling with a fellow rider also on a motorbike and police would to speak to anyone who saw the two bikes prior to the collision.
The driver of the car was uninjured in the collision.
