POLICE are investigating the death of an elderly man who body was found in a burnt-out caravan in a remote spot, it was announced this morning.
The man, who has not been identified, was discovered on Sunday, in the fire-damaged caravan in Appleton Wiske, near Northallerton, North Yorkshire.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: "Due to the nature of the injuries sustained, it will take some time to establish the identity of the body found.
"At this stage, it is too early to say whether there are any suspicious circumstances."
