A HOMELESS man accused of kidnapping and killing a teenage girl he met on Facebook will appear before a judge for the first time.
Peter Chapman, 32, is accused of killing 17-year-old trainee nanny Ashleigh Hall, whose body was found dumped in a ditch on farmland near Sedgefield, County Durham, last Monday.
Chapman will appear by videolink before Teesside Crown Court, charged with manslaughter, kidnap, and failing to notify a new address as required by the Sex Offenders Act. He is not expected to enter a plea.
The Darlington College student went missing after telling her mother she was going to stay overnight at a friend's house.
On Friday, Ashleigh's mother Andrea Hall spoke in public for the first time about her daughter, who she described as her rock, saying she was "bubbly, lively and lovely" and a bit of a chatterbox.
