AN eye-catching bridge is the latest addition to a miniature version of the River Tees.
The distinctive design of Infinity Bridge, which spans the river at Stockton, has been lauded since the £15m crossing opened in May.
Now a model version will take centre stage in Middlesbrough’s Nature’s World.
Launched 12 years ago, the mini-Tees has proved to be a major attraction for families across the region.
Funding for the replica came from Stockton Borough Council.
Councillor Bob Cook, cabinet member for transport and regeneration, said: “It is pleasing to show how the council’s allocation of community funds is helping people learn new skills, at the same time enhancing the appeal of this tourist attraction, leaving a legacy which they, their families and friends will see for years to come.”
Nature’s World manager Stuart Goldie said: “The model of the Infinity Bridge will create a stunning new feature on the mini-River Tees. It complements other landmark bridges on the model, including the Transporter and Newport bridges and, of course, the Tees Barrage.”
