A LARGE fire has caused extensive damage to a large family home near Northallerton.
Five fire crews attended the blaze at the house in St James Drive, in Romanby, which started in an adjoining garage before spreading to the house at about 10.30pm on Tuesday.
The garage, a car inside it, and the kitchen and utility room were all completely destroyed and the rest of the house suffered 100 per cent smoke and heat damage.
Fire investigators have said the blaze does not look to be suspicious.
It is not thought that anyone was injured in the incident.
