A 32-year-old man is due in court this morning charged with the manslaughter and kidnap of teenager Ashleigh Hall from Darlington.
The man, of no fixed abode, is also charged with failing to notify a change of address as required under the Sexual Offences Act.
He is due to appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court.
The body of Ashleigh, 17, was found in a field near Sedgfield, County Durham, on Monday night.
She was a former Hurworth School pupil and had been studying child care at Darlington.
