After the disappointment of Kes at Darlington Civic Theatre on Saturday, I had another trip at the theatre last night and saw one of the most amazing acts I've ever seen.
I was at Middlesbrough Theatre to see my daughter take part in a charity dance night.
The Mayor of Middlesbrough Ray Mallon was there, turning out on a cold Sunday night when he could have been sitting in front of the TV, to open the show. Very impressive, Mr Mayor.
Anyway, outside the theatre before the show, there was a young lad breathing fire on stilts.
While we were hanging around the foyer, the stilt-walker came in and headed for the Gents.
"I've got to see this," I said to my wife and followed him in.
Now, I've witnessed some things in my time but this lad managed to answer the call of nature from a height of at least seven feet.
Most blokes can't manage to hit the target from an average height but this young man was an extraordinary talent.
And what's more - he managed to bend all the way down to wash his hands.
