POLICE investigating an allegation of rape have arrested an 18-year-old woman on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and wasting police time.
Detectives in Middlesbrough had been appealing for information after a woman said she was attacked on Borough Road in the early hours on last Monday morning.
Tonight Cleveland Police released a statement saying a 26-year-old man arrested last week in connection with the incident has had his bail cancelled, and a 32-year-old man arrested on suspicion of rape has been released without charge.
The 18-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and wasting police time has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
