I have been aware for some time of discussions about staging a ceremonial march by Catterick-based soldiers through Darlington.
Details about that march are revealed in tomorrow's Northern Echo.
The march will be part of a civic ceremony honouring soldiers who are preparing to serve in Afghanistan.
Catterick-based soldiers have a strong affinity with Darlington and I am fully behind the idea of a march.
It is a chance for local people to turn out and show their support for the brave men and women who are risking their lives in the war zone.
