A SPECTACULAR light show lit up the iconic Roseberry Topping as Odin’s Glow was finally unveiled last night.
The four-night festival of light, sound and entertainment has been eagerly anticipated with all tickets being snapped up within days of being made available.
And people were not disappointed as the colourlit hill was visible from miles around.
A magical atmosphere welcomed visitors, and young and old were enthralled by a wide range of art installations hidden about the village of Newton under Roseberry, near Guisborough, east Cleveland.
Bringing the Nordic legend of Odin to life captured the imagination as people were taken on a journey of discovery.
Local hero James Cook was honoured with a beautifully ethereal light show on the village pond.
Jennifer Watson, of Redcar, said: “I wasn’t really sure what to expect but when I arrived I was immediately struck by Roseberry Topping as it changed colour. And walking around the village to discover some of the things that are hidden away was wonderful.”
And ten-year-old Laura Smith was swept along by the mythology.
She said: “I really liked the storytelling because it helped me understand what it was all about. It was very different to what I thought it would be.”
The show will be repeated from 6.30pm to 9.30pm tonight and from 6pm to 9.30pm tomorrow and Sunday
