A 42-YEAR-old man was remanded in custody today when he appeared in Court charged with the murder of a prostitute whose strangled body was found in a burned-out flat.
Firefighters discovered Andrea Waddell's body in her first floor flat in Upper Lewes Road, Brighton, shortly before midnight last Thursday.
Neil McMillan, a satellite installer, of Bennett Road, Brighton, is also charged with arson with intent to endanger life.
Wearing a grey and white stripy V-neck jumper, he spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth during the brief hearing at Brighton Magistrates Court.
No application for bail was made and he was remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on November 6.
