Sheila Tock, president of Witton-le-Wear Women's Institute, has emailed following yesterday's "From The Editor's Chair" column.
I was lamenting the fact that there was a poor turnout at her WI to hear me speak because I clashed with Cliff Richard at the Metro Arena in Newcastle.
Sheila starts her email with the words: "Although you are greying at the temples, you still appeal to us, the older members of the WI..."
Presumably, this means that I don't appeal to the younger members of the WI.
"The next time you visit our group, we would like you to sing. Could it be Nat King Cole's Autumn leaves?"
Obviously, this entirely depends on the fee that I'm given for the Butterwick Children's Hospice.
If the price is right, I'll be anyone they want.
