A PENSIONER is fighting for his life after he was involved in a collision with a coach at a busy junction in York.
The 68-year-old man, from Bristol, was crossing the road in the centre of the city when he was hit by the tourist coach just after 2pm on Monday.
Police described the man as being in a critical condition in hospital with serious head injuries.
The driver of the coach, which was empty at the time, was unharmed.
The junction where the incident took place, on Bishopthorpe Road, was cordoned off by police for some time, causing traffic chaos.
Any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact TC Roger Walker on 0845-60-60-247.
