YOUNG people with learning difficulties and disabilities have been helping to create a mural for a city shop.
Youngsters from Durham Trinity School, in Durham City, have been painting and creating decorations for an interior wall at Sainsbury’s, in Front Street, Framwellgate Moor, Durham.
The school is the shop’s chosen charity for this year. With nearly £900 already raised through sponsored events, it is hoped the link will generate £3,000 to spend on outdoor equipment for the pupils.
Sharon Bowman, from Sainsbury’s, said: “Every Sainsbury’s has a chosen charity and has to create a wall of pride.
“We thought to do it differently we would ask if the anyone from the school would like to paint the wall.
“They’ve done a brilliant job.”
The wall includes the Sainsbury’s logo, a thermometer-style measure of how much money has been raised and other decorations created by children.
