CHILDREN will be able to get a new look for Halloween at a North-East salon.
Hairdresser Diana Ross, of Ferryhill, County Durham, is offering children a ghoulish makeover for the night.
Face-painter, acrobat and stilt walker Sarah Shearer will help Miss Ross, who runs De Marco’s salon in Market Street, Ferryhill, with the transformations.
On Thursday, October 29, between 1.30pm and 3.30pm, the duo will paint faces with haunting designs or popular characters, from Spiderman to witches or werewolves.
Proceeds from the £2 charge will be donated to The Butterwick Hospice, in Bishop Auckland.
Miss Ross, who is also co-owner of her late mother’s cafe and pizzeria Romana’s, is supporting the charity to show her gratitude for its support.
Her father, 74-year-old Antonio Ross, has terminal cancer and visits the hospice every Friday.
Miss Ross, 41, said: “I’m looking after him full-time but the hospice offers us respite and is a place for him to meet friends, people his own age and it helps him learn to cope with cancer.
“They are all very supportive and understanding and I want to thank them for their support and care.”
