To get more than 300 people to attend in these difficult economic times is quite an achievement.
Councillor Jim Ruck has been an excellent Mayor this year and I'm pleased for him that it turned out so well.
Council leader John Williams was looking forward to going to the Sunderland versus Liverpool game on Saturday.
John's a passionate Liverpool fan. I'm planning to buy him a beach ball for Christmas.
