ART created by North-East school pupils has gone on display at a world-renowned museum.
Works by year nine and GCSE pupils from Spennymoor School, County Durham, is being exhibited at Durham University’s Oriental Museum, home to oriental collections of international standing.
The exhibition marks the end of two years of work including study visits, research, workshops and studio sessions and features paintings, textiles and ceramics.
Museum curator Craig Barclay said: "The work created for this exhibition is fantastic.
"The Oriental Museum has enjoyed a close working relationship with Spennymoor School for many years and we are thrilled to be able to provide a venue for the public to be able to see some of the wonderful art being created by local teenagers."
The exhibition, titled Wonders of the Orient, opened on Saturday and runs until January 17.
The Oriental Museum, on Elvet Hill, Durham, is open 10am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 12pm to 5pm on weekends. Entry is £1.50 for adults, 75p for children aged five to 16 and over 60s, free for under fives and students.
