A GROUP of selfless youngsters will learn this week which of them has won the title Britain’s Kindest Kid.
The five children, aged two to 13, have been nominated for the award in recognition of their efforts to raise money and support charities across the UK.
They included two-year-old Marcus Durkin, who received a high five from Prime Minister Gordon Brown during a visit to Number 10.
Marcus, from Colburn, in North Yorkshire, was nominated after he took part in a walk for Help For Heroes with his family.
His efforts helped to raise £2,000 for the charity.
The award is run by Charities Aid Foundation and sponsored by Channel Five.
Five News presenter Natasha Kaplinsky said: “Meeting these incredible children who are giving something back to society at such young ages is both inspirational and humbling.”
The winner, chosen by a public telephone vote, will be revealed to the public on Five News tomorrow.
The winner will receive £1,000 for themselves and £1,000 for the charities of their choice.
